Miss Ellie's Butter Cookies

2 cups butter(4 sticks)

3 cups confectioners sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

5 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients and freeze for two hours.

Roll out dough into desired thickness, around 1/4 inch, cut cookies using cookie cutters and place cookies in ungreased pan.

Bake at 375 for about 6 minutes or until edges are brown
